Napoleon Joseyounen Successfully Completes His GED 12
Napoleon Joseyounen, originally from Wollaston Lake, in northern Saskatchewan, and a member of the Hatchet Lake Band, has successfully completed his GED 12.
He had been attending Edu-Right Consulting Inc. in Saskatoon for the past two years working towards his goal.
Napoleon has battled through much adversity in his pursuit to reach the level that he is at today. The transition from an isolated community in northern Saskatchewan to Saskatoon can be tremendously difficult for a disabled person. However, Napoleon has proved that no task is too great.
He is currently training at the Saskatchewan Abilities Council in Saskatoon where he is assembling electrical equipment.
Perseverence Pays Off For Randy McLeod
Randy McLeod, a hearing impaired person from Stanley Mission, only wanted to live independently and have an opportunity for full-time employment.
Randy approached the Gary Tinker Federation for assistance in securing employment. After discussion with Randy Stomp, GTF Vocational Counsellor and Patty Watt Employment Consultant with CanSask Career and Employment Services, the La Ronge Co-op Store accepted Randy's resume. hired him, and put him to work immediately.
Due to Randy's disability, it created some challenges for both employee and employer. The Co-op management and staff works to ensure that he is treated as an equal employee.
Although Randy's success at the Co-op is a positive achievement, he wanted more. Under his own initiative, he approached Northway Janitorial Services for an opportunity to work part-time evenings and weekends. He was hired shortly after he made contact, and continues to work part-time with Northway Janitorial.
As a result of Randy's achievements, he is able to maintain his own fully furnished apartment and be self sufficent. On behalf of the Gary Tinker Federation and CanSask Career and Employment Services.
Congratulations to the following GTF clients for maintaining employment.
Gary received recognition from the Province of Saskatchewan for his contribution towards the betterment of disabled northern Saskatchewan residents.
